BFSO is a free and independent dispute resolution service. We consider complaints about banks and their affiliates operating in Australia.

The Financial Industry Complaints Service (FICS)
The Financial Industry Complaints Service (FICS) is an external dispute resolution (EDR) scheme that was established to provide free advice and assistance to consumers to help them in resolving complaints relating to members of the financial services industry, including life insurance, pooled superannuation trusts, funds management, financial advice, stock broking, investment advice and sales of financial or investment products. There is no charge to consumers for any service provided by FICS in handling complaints. We are a national service.

Finance Industry Complaints Scheme Limited (FICS)
FICS deals with complaints about financial services providers including life insurers, funds managers, investment advisers and planners, stockbrokers and some superannuation providers.

Financial Co-operative Dispute Resolution Scheme (FCDRS)
The FCDRS deals with complaints from consumers about those Australian credit unions and building societies who are members of the scheme.

First State Superannuation Scheme
First State Super was established in 1992 as a not for profit super fund. Initially our members were NSW public sector employees and their spouses. As of 1 May 2006, First State Super is open to all members of the community who are eligible to become members of a superannuation fund. FSS Trustee Corporation ACN 118 202 672, AFSL 293340, is the Trustee of the First State Superannuation Scheme ABN 53 226 460 365 and holds in trust all of the assets of the Fund.

Legal Services Commision SA
The Legal Services Commission is jointly funded by both the South Australian and the Commonwealth Governments. It was established in 1977 to increase access to legal services for those people who cannot afford to pay for private legal representation.

Military Super
MilitarySuper was established by the Military Superannuation and Benefits Act 1991 (the MSB Act). It replaced the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits (DFRDB) Scheme for new entrants to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) on 1 October 1991, following government initiatives to improve ADF superannuation arrangements. Existing DFRDB contributors were given the option of transferring to Military Super before 1 October 1992.
